Chapter 2

Dolka — Little Red Riding Hood

One day, the Hare and MIA came to visit Dolka and saw her wearing a Little Red Riding Hood costume. Suddenly, they heard sneezing.

— Dolka, is that you sneezing? — asked the Hare.

— No, it's my Nu, Pogodi! He caught a cold! — explained Dolka.

— And what will help him? — asked MIA.

— Well, my healing tea with lemon and honey will help him, — answered the little Hare. — And also my special apple pie.

There was a basket and a bag of apples on the table.

The Hare and MIA decided to help her prepare some treats for Nu, Pogodi!

MIA was making the tea, while the Hare and Dolka were baking the pie.

First, you need three eggs, and then one kilogram of flour.

The Hare put the flour into a sieve, and Dolka sifted it.

Next, you need some milk.

The Hare poured a cup of milk.

Then you need to mix the dough, put it into a baking pan, and add the apples on top.

Now the pie needs to bake for 15 minutes.

When 10 minutes had passed, the kettle had already boiled.

MIA added the tea leaves and sugar and poured the tea into a thermos.

Then the pie was ready, and Dolka put the pie and the tea into the basket.

The Hare, the little Mouse, and the Squirrel went to the Wolf's house.

It was already LATE EVENING.

Suddenly, the Night NINJA appeared with his NINJA friends.

— What are you carrying in the basket? — asked the NIGHT NINJA.

— We are going to the Wolf's house and bringing him some treats, — explained Dolka.

— And what are you bringing?

— We are bringing an apple pie and tea with honey.

— I have a cold too! — said the NIGHT NINJA. — Will you let me taste it?

— No! First of all, it's for Nu, Pogodi!, and secondly, you're not sick! — the Hare told him honestly.

The little Hare, Dolka, and MIA came to two roads, and both roads led in different directions.

Suddenly, something rustled in the bushes. Luckily, it was LILIA and SERHIYKO. They were carrying a blanket for the Wolf.

But then the Night NINJA had mixed up all the signs.

— Look! The order of the colors is shown here, and there are colored signs on the roads too! — realized SERHIYKO.

— Serhiyko is right. If we take the road with the matching color order, we'll reach Nu, Pogodi!'s house! — realized SERDECHKO.

The color order on the road to the Wolf's house was: red, blue, yellow.

On the left, the order was red, green, yellow.

And on the right, it was red, blue, yellow.

— We need to go right!

They were almost at the Wolf's house when they met SNIZHYNKA.

Suddenly, there was a tree in front of them.

— Hello, Dolka! I am a tree! — said the Tree.

— Oh, Mr. Tree, why are your hands so blue? — asked MIA.

— That's so I can touch everything! — said the Tree, turning toward Dolka. — Dolka, give me the basket. I want to touch it.

— Something seems suspicious to me! — said SNIZHYNKA.

Dolka held out the basket, and suddenly the Night NINJA jumped out of the Tree's costume!

The PEREVERODYATA quickly ran to the Wolf's house and shut the door.

The PEREVERODYATA took the elevator up to the Wolf and the wolf cubs.

— Wolf, it's us, your friends! — said Dolka.

— At this hour, friends stay at home and watch TV! — said VULA. — Only strangers go wandering around! We're not opening the door!

— Open the door, wolf cubs! — said the Wolf. — It's our friends. I can recognize their voices.

BU opened the door. It really was their friends.

— Wolf, we brought you an apple pie, — said Dolka.

Suddenly, someone rang the doorbell.

— It's him, the Night NINJA! — shouted SNIZHYNKA.

SERHIYKO looked through the peephole. It was VULI.

— What if it's the Night NINJA wearing a She-Wolf costume? — SNIZHYNKA suspected.

— Calm down, Snizhynka. She sounds just like VULI! — LILIA reassured her.

They opened the door, and it turned out that it really was VULI.

The Wolf ate some pie and drank the tea, and he felt better.

— All right, it's time for us to go! — said the Hare. — See you tomorrow!

The PEREVERODYATA went home, and the Wolf fell asleep.

The next day, the Wolf was completely better.
